About Us
Lydon and Murphy Insurance was founded in 1966 by James Lydon & Thomas Murphy. They were the original “Men of Nationwide Insurance”, with their first location in Roslindale, Ma. In 1977, the agency moved to Route 1 in Norwood were it remains today. It has continued to service the clients that have been with it from the beginning, while establishing strong roots in the community.In the early 90’s, Jeffrey Lydon & Stephan Murphy (son’s of James and Thomas) joined the agency. They have continued the importance of putting the customer first and have grown the agency from a small to mid size agency. In 2008, the changes to the auto insurance industry allowed the agency to add additional markets and give its clients further access to all lines of insurance. The agency will now be owned and operated by the 2nd generation of Lydon & Murphy, when Jeffrey Lydon and Stephan Murphy take over operations as of January 2010.
